Experience

Engineering Director, Amplify (formerly Wireless Generation)
Brooklyn, NY
Jan 2012 – present

I was one of the first technical members of a team that created an application platform to store educational data about millions of students and securely expose that data through RESTful APIs. In addition to the traditional engineering responsibilities of designing, developing, and delivering high quality software, I was also responsible (through Product Owners reporting to me) for ensuring that the product requirements were well defined and prioritized in line with customer needs.

Architect, Wireless Generation
Brooklyn, NY
Jun 2010 – Jan 2012

As the technical lead on a consulting project team, I worked with an Engagement Manager and multiple engineering teams to enhance and support a system that provided web-based access to data for more than one million students to teachers and administrators. I worked closely with the customer to define and scope meaningful enhancements that fit with time and budget constraints, and worked as a hands-on architect with the engineering teams to build and deliver the enhancements.

Software Developer, Wireless Generation
Brooklyn, NY
Mar 2007 – Jun 2010

I was the technical lead of a team that developed the strategy for porting multiple Palm OS applications to Windows and Linux. The first application that we ported was the first project at Wireless Generation to run from start to finish as an Agile project.

Prior to this, I worked on various other projects touching on both front end and back end of web applications (Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL), and native development for mobile platforms (C++, sqlite), both as an individual contributor and team lead.

Lecturer, Peace Corps / Essequibo Technical Institute
Anna Regina, Guyana
Apr 2004 – Jun 2006

As a volunteer in the Peace Corps, I taught for two years at Essequibo Technical Institute, one of four post-secondary technical schools in Guyana.

Consultant, Chariot Solutions, LLC
Fort Washington, PA
Oct 2002 – Jan 2004

In between multiple extended trips for hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding, and while I was waiting for a Peach Corps assignment, I worked with Chariot Solutions on various projects.

Group Leader / Software Engineer, PTC

Jan 1995 – Jul 2002

Worked in Graphics and Systems group primarily on Pro/Engineer, a leading CAD solution with more than 30,000 customers supported by 300+ developers
